OUR LEADERSHIP

Bill Newlands is Constellation’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Bill is responsible for providing strategic leadership and working with the board of directors to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies. He leads the executive management committee and is a member of the board of directors. Bill has served as a director of Hormel Foods Corporation (NYSE: HRL), a global branded food company, since November 2018 and as its Lead Director since January 2023.

Bill joined Constellation in 2015 as EVP, Chief Growth Officer. In 2016, his role expanded to include leadership of the Wine & Spirits Division. In 2017 he became the company’s Chief Operating Officer and in 2018 his role expanded to include President. Bill previously served as President, North America at Beam, Inc. Under his leadership, Beam became one of the fastest-growing companies in its category.

Previous appointments include President, Beam Spirits U.S. (2008-2010); President, Beam Wine Estates (2005-2007); President and CEO, Allied Domecq Wines USA (2002-2005); CEO and Board Director, wine.com (1999-2001); Managing Director, U.S. and Global Marketing Officer, LVMH Chandon Estates (1996 – 1999).

Jim Bourdeau is Constellation’s Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, reporting to Bill Newlands, President and Chief Executive Officer. Jim is responsible for governance, government affairs, and company-wide legal functions. Jim is a member of Constellation Brands’ executive management committee.

Jim joined Constellation Brands in 2014 as Senior Vice President, General Counsel Corporate Development, where he was involved in a number of activities related to the formation, financing, and expansion of business operations; mergers and acquisitions; and venture financing.

Prior to joining Constellation Brands, Jim was an attorney at the law firm of Nixon Peabody LLP for 14 years, and he began his legal career at Phillips Lytle LLP in 1995. Before becoming a lawyer, Jim was an Applications Engineer for Tektronix, Inc.

Paula Erickson is Constellation’s Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer reporting to Bill Newlands, President and Chief Executive Officer. In this role, Paula has oversight responsibility for all aspects of Constellation’s HR business partnership, global talent initiatives, HR operations, and global total rewards programs and serves as member of the executive management committee.   

Prior to joining Constellation Brands, Erickson served as the Senior Vice President, Chief People, Culture & Communications Officer of the global premium spirits company Beam Suntory Inc. (now called Suntory Global Spirits). In this executive leadership role, she helped architect and drive the company’s talent strategy through a series of significant transformational events in the decade following Suntory Holdings’ acquisition of the company in 2014. Erickson’s career has spanned a number of roles with increasing responsibility across human resources, corporate communications, public relations, advertising, and brand development throughout her 16 years with Beam Suntory as well as 17 years with the global retailer-owned hardware cooperative Ace Hardware Corporation. 

Sam Glaetzer is Constellation’s Executive Vice President and President, Wine & Spirits Division, reporting to President and CEO Bill Newlands. He is responsible for all U.S. and international commercial and operations functions related to the company’s wine and spirits business and serves as a member of Constellation Brands’ executive management committee.

Prior to this role, Sam was the company’s SVP of Global Operations & Head of International Sales, Wine & Spirits Division. Sam joined Constellation in New Zealand in 2014, bringing extensive knowledge and 30+ years of industry experience. His prior background includes leadership positions with Treasury Wine Estates/Foster’s as an Environmental Engineer, Vintage Winemaker, Winemaker, Senior Winemaker, Group Winemaker, and General Manager for Winery Operations and Production.

An enologist at heart, Sam comes from an Australian winemaking family that has won 6 Jimmy Watson trophies (Australia’s most respected wine award) over the last 50 years. His family owns and has interest in several wine companies in Australia, including Glaetzer Wines in the Barossa Valley and Glaetzer Dixon Family Wines in Tasmania.

Garth Hankinson is Constellation’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer reporting to Bill Newlands, President and Chief Executive Officer. He is responsible for corporate strategy, all aspects of finance and accounting, investor relations, mergers and acquisitions, information technology and Constellation Ventures. Garth is a member of the executive management committee.

Garth joined Constellation in 2001 as Manager of Corporate Development and progressed in roles as Director and Vice President of Corporate Development. He also held the role of Vice President, Business Development of Vincor Canada, a previously owned operating company of Constellation Brands.

Prior to his appointment as CFO, Garth served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Financial Planning and Analysis, where he was responsible for the execution of the company’s inorganic growth initiatives, including identifying potential targets for merger, acquisition, joint venture, strategic partnership, or divestiture. In the role, he oversaw the company’s venture investment fund, allocating funds annually to high growth branded and non-branded opportunities within beverage alcohol and close adjacencies, specifically driving the company’s Focus on Female Founders initiative, a pledge to invest in female-founded or female-led companies. Garth also had responsibility for the company’s financial planning and analysis team, which included analysis and review of financial results and projections, as well as preparing reporting packages for executive management.

Before joining Constellation, Garth held roles in sales operations and business intelligence at Xerox Corporation. Garth also served as an auditor and analyst at Citicorp, Inc.

Mike McGrew is Constellation’s Executive Vice President, Chief Communications, CSR & Inclusion Officer, reporting to Bill Newlands, President and Chief Executive Officer. In this role, Mike is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s communications efforts, including internal and external global communications, brand public relations, corporate branding and reputation, and Corporate Social Responsibility. Mike is a member of the executive management committee.

Based in Chicago, McGrew joined Constellation Brands in 2014 as Senior Director, Communications for the Beer Division. He has held a number of progressive leadership roles within the company, including serving as a member of the Operational Executive Management Committee, providing valuable stakeholder and business perspective, and leading the development and execution of impactful communication campaigns to support various strategic priorities and investments that have contributed to the company’s overall success.

Before joining Constellation Brands, Mike held a number of roles in corporate communications with increasing responsibility at Grainger, Alliant Foodservice, and Morton International. He is a Leadership Greater Chicago Fellow, serves on the Board of Directors for Urban Initiatives, serves as a Fortune 500 Board Fellow as part of Heidrick & Struggles’ Director Institute, and was recently inducted into Northwestern University’s Medill Hall of Achievement.

Mallika is Constellation’s Executive Vice President, Managing Director, Beer Brands, reporting to Bill Newlands, President and Chief Executive Officer. In this role, Mallika is responsible for all aspects of brand marketing and advertising, trade marketing and merchandising, as well as field, lifestyle, and experiential marketing for the company’s high-end beer brands. Mallika is a member of the executive management committee.

Mallika joined Constellation in 2016 as Vice President, Beer Innovation. Leveraging consumer insights, Mallika spearheaded the acceleration of the beer innovation portfolio – with the development and launch of innovations including Corona Premier, Modelo Oro, Corona Non-Alcoholic and Modelo Spiked Aguas Frescas. She was a driving force behind the company’s Focus on Female Founders program, designed to invest $100 million in female-founded or female-owned start-ups in the beverage alcohol space over the next 10 years. She has held a number of progressive leadership roles within the company, including serving as the company's Chief Growth, Strategy & Digital Officer, where she advanced the company's innovation and digital capabilities. In 2024, Mallika was named Managing Director, Beer Brands, bringing her strong consumer orientation and a deep understanding of consumer trends, preferences, and motivations to the table to oversee the Beer Division’s marketing organization.

Mallika has over a decade of experience in the beverage alcohol industry in strategy, brand marketing and innovation. Prior to joining Constellation, Mallika was a Senior Marketing Director leading brand and innovation strategy at Anheuser Busch Inbev, and a Senior Brand Manager at Beam Suntory.

Jim Sabia is Constellation’s Executive Vice President and President, Beer Division, reporting to President and CEO Bill Newlands. Jim is responsible for day-to-day general management responsibilities for all U.S. commercial and operations functions related to the company’s beer business. Prior to this role, Jim was the company's Executive Vice President and Managing Director, Beer Division. Jim is a member of the executive management committee.

Jim joined the company in 2007 leading the marketing efforts of the spirits business. In 2009, Jim joined the Beer Division as Chief Marketing Officer responsible for leading the marketing strategy across Constellation’s diversified beverage alcohol portfolio. Jim previously served as Vice President of Marketing & Media at Molson Coors Brewing Company.

Chrisopher Baldwin has served as a managing partner of CVC Advisors (U.S.) Inc. since October 2020. Prior to that, he held various board and executive management roles at BJ’s Wholesale Club Holdings Inc. (NYSE: BJ) between September 2015 and June 2023, including serving as the company’s executive chairman of the board and chief executive officer during that time span, and will also serve as a member of the board of directors through June 2024. While at BJ’s, Mr. Baldwin also served as chairman of the National Retail Federation board of directors from 2018-2020. In addition, Mr. Baldwin held numerous senior executive roles at Hess Retail Corporation, Kraft Foods Group, Inc., The Hershey Company, and The Procter & Gamble Company. Mr. Baldwin brings to the board extensive executive and board leadership experience, and deep knowledge of the consumer-packaged goods and food and beverage industries from his more than 20 years of service in multiple facets of business leadership including branding, marketing, and human capital development.

Ms. Clark has served as a Senior Advisor at Bennett Jones LLP, an internationally recognized Canadian law firm, since July 2018. Prior to that, she served as the Premier of the Province of British Columbia, Canada from March 2011 through July 2017. As a volunteer, she chairs Roots of Empathy, an international organization that helps children develop empathy. Ms. Clark brings to the Board extensive leadership experience, as well as valuable insights into Canadian and international markets, fiscal management, and government relations.

Jennifer Daniels has served as Chief Legal Officer and Secretary of Colgate-Palmolive Company, a global consumer products company, since November 2014. Prior to that she served as the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of NCR Corporation where she oversaw all legal matters, government relations, IP licensing, compliance and environmental issues. She also served as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Barnes & Noble, Inc., where she helped build an internal legal function as the company’s first in-house General Counsel. Ms. Daniels brings to the board extensive experience in consumer product goods, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance and corporate governance.

Nicholas I. Fink has served as Chief Executive Officer of Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc. (NYSE: FBIN) since January 2020. From March 2019 to January 2020, Mr. Fink served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc. From July 2016 to March 2019, Mr. Fink served as President of the Company’s Plumbing business. From June 2015 to July 2016, Mr. Fink served as Senior Vice President of Global Growth and Development of Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc. Prior to that Mr. Fink served as President, Asia Pacific and South America of Beam Suntory, Inc., a global spirits company. Mr. Fink brings to the Board his extensive beverage alcohol, international business, and legal experience, and has a proven track record of leveraging consumer insights to meet consumer needs in fast moving, highly regulated markets. Mr. Fink is a member of the board of directors of Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc.

William T. Giles served as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President – Finance, Information Technology and Store Development, Customer Satisfaction for AutoZone, Inc. (NYSE: AZO) (“AutoZone”), the leading retailer and distributor of automotive replacement parts and accessories in the Americas, from 2007 to December 2020. Mr. Giles joined AutoZone in 2006 as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President Finance. From 1991 to May 2006, he held several positions with Linens ‘n Things, Inc., a retailer of home textiles, housewares, and decorative home accessories, most recently as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to 1991, Mr. Giles was with Melville, Inc. and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Mr. Giles serves on the board of directors for Brinker International (NYSE: EAT) and Floor and Decor Holdings, Inc (NYSE: FND). In addition, Mr. Giles is a member of the American Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of CPAs.

Mr. Giles brings to the Board more than three decades of financial proficiency and business leadership in retail products and skills as chief financial officer of a public company. He also provides insights into strategic, risk management, governance, and financial issues facing public companies in retail products.

Mr. Hernández retired from General Motors de Mexico, S. de R.L. de C.V. (“GM de Mexico”), a subsidiary of General Motors Company, effective January 16, 2020. From June 2011 until August 2019, he served as President and Managing Director of GM de Mexico. Prior to that time, he served as Vice President and Executive Director of Sales, Service and Marketing of GM de Mexico, having served in that role from April 2003 through May 2011. Mr. Hernández began his career with GM de Mexico in 1980 and has held numerous positions of growing responsibility within that company. He also serves as a director of BRP Inc. (TSX: DOO; Nasdaq: DOOO), headquartered in Quebec, Canada, since December 2020, and Dana Incorporated (NYSE: DAN), headquartered in Maumee, Ohio, since January 2022. Mr. Hernández brings to the Board his extensive leadership skills, insight, and perspective from his many years of service with a major manufacturing company as well as valuable insights regarding Mexican business operations.

Jose Manuel Madero is currently an independent business consultant based out of Mexico City. He served as honorary advisor of the COFINECE (national council for the promotion of investment, employment and economic growth) at the Office of the Chief of Staff of the President of Mexico from March 2019 until his term ended in December 2019. Prior to that, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Grupo Bepensa from February 2015 through February 2019. From 2005 to 2015, Mr. Madero held various roles of growing responsibility with Monsanto Company, a global agriculture company, including Vice President of International Business Development from September 2014 to January 2015, President and Regional Lead EMEA from February 2013 to August 2014, President and Regional Lead Latin America North from August 2009 to January 2013, Vice President of Commercial Operations for Latin America South from December 2007 to August 2009, and President and Regional Lead of Australia and New Zealand, from August 2006 to December 2007. Mr. Madero has served as a director of Newmont Corporation (NYSE:NEM), the world’s leading gold company and a producer of copper, silver, zinc and lead, since April 2020. As a former chief executive officer, Mr. Madero brings to the Board his expertise in executive leadership, international business matters, operations, finance, and strategic planning.

Daniel McCarthy is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Frontier Communications Corporation, a communications company, serving in that role from 2015 to 2019.

Prior to that, he was President and Chief Operating Officer from April 2012 to April 2015, and, previously, was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer from January 2006 to April 2012, Senior Vice President, Field Operations from December 2004 to December 2005, and Senior Vice President, Broadband Operations from January 2004 to December 2004. Mr. McCarthy began his career with Frontier Communications Corporation in 1990 and has held numerous positions of increasing responsibility within that company. Mr. McCarthy has not served as a director of any other public company (other than Frontier Communications Corporation) during the past five years. Mr. McCarthy brings to the Board his leadership skills as well as his experience in strategic planning, financial reporting, the competitive environment, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory affairs.

Mr. Sands previously served as Executive Vice Chairman of the Board of the Company from March 2019 through November 2022 and as Chairman of the Board of the Company from September 1999 through February 2019. He was employed by the Company in various capacities from 1979 through November 2022. He served as Chief Executive Officer from October 1993 to July 2007, as President from May 1986 to December 2002, as Chief Operating Officer from May 1986 to October 1993, and as Executive Vice President from 1982 to May 1986.

During the period of Mr. Sands’ leadership, the Company expanded through a combination of organic internal growth and inorganic mergers and acquisitions to become a leading global producer and marketer of beverage alcohol brands across imported beer, wine, and spirits. Under the experienced leadership of Mr. Richard Sands and his brother Mr. Robert Sands, the Company grew from a regional wine company to a publicly traded total beverage alcohol company in the S&P 500 with revenues for Fiscal 2023 in excess of $9 billion.

Mr. Sands brings to the Board deep experience with the Company’s management, strategic priorities, and history. He has been a dynamic leader for decades, bringing his diverse skill set to bear in both the board room and operations of the Company.

Mr. Sands previously served as the Executive Chairman of the Board of the Company from March 2019 through November 2022 and as Chief Executive Officer of the Company from July 2007 through February 2019. Mr. Sands also served as President of the Company from December 2002 to February 2018, as Chief Operating Officer from December 2002 to July 2007, as Group President from April 2000 through December 2002, as Chief Executive Officer, International from December 1998 through April 2000, as Executive Vice President from October 1993 through April 2000, as General Counsel from June 1986 through May 2000, and as Vice President from June 1990 through October 1993.

During his tenure as Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Sands led the Company through the acquisition of its Mexican beer business, the initial build out of its Mexican production footprint, and the premiumization of its brand portfolio. Under the experienced leadership of Mr. Robert Sands and his brother Mr. Richard Sands, the Company grew from a regional wine company to a publicly traded total beverage alcohol company in the S&P 500 with revenues for Fiscal 2023 in excess of $9 billion.

Mr. Sands brings to the Board his vast expertise with the Company’s operations, brands, and shifting consumer demands, based on over three decades of experience across his many roles. He is a top leader of the beverage alcohol industry, having built extensive relationships across the industry at home and abroad.

Luca Zaramella has served as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer of Mondelēz International (Nasdaq: MDLZ) (“Mondelēz”), a global snacking leader, since August 2018. In this role, he is responsible for the oversight of the company’s global Finance, Information and Technology Solutions and shared service functions. He previously served as Senior Vice President Corporate Finance, CFO Commercial, and Treasurer from June 2016 to July 2018, as Interim Lead Finance North America from April 2017 to November 2017, as Senior Vice President and Corporate Controller from December 2014 to August 2016, and as Senior Vice President, Finance of Mondelèz Europe from October 2011 to November 2014. He joined Mondelèz in 1996.

As a current chief financial officer, Mr. Zaramella brings to the Board his expertise in global finance, information and technology solutions, mergers and acquisitions, and shared service functions.
