Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion at Constellation Brands
We believe our diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) goals aren’t just the right thing to do, but are critical components to our future success. We must have diverse perspectives influencing our decision making to continue building best-in-class brands that resonate with all the diverse consumers we serve. It’s why DEI is built into our strategic business priorities.
Below you can learn more about how we’re building an inclusive, winning culture, and the actions we are taking to advance equity for underrepresented groups within our company, our industry, and our communities.

“As a consumer-obsessed company, our mission is to build brands that people love. We’ll do that best when we, as a workforce, reflect the viewpoints, perspectives and values of consumers we serve. Our DE&I strategy helps drive a company-wide mindset that weaves diversity, equity and inclusion into everything we do, enabling us to build an inclusive work culture while staying ahead of today’s evolving consumer landscape. For us, DE&I is both the right thing to do and critical to building a strong, sustainable business that continues to succeed over the long-term.”
Our visionary employee base reflects the diverse communities and consumers that we serve, positively impacting our business performance and creating stronger connections with our consumers.
Together – and only together – we become stronger, and are able to continually build on our success.
Together, we shine.
Our Mission
Our DEI mission is to foster an inclusive culture characterized by diversity in background and thought that reflects our consumers and the communities where we live and work, and where all employees feel welcomed as their authentic selves. We believe this culture enables our employees to shine and our business to connect in a meaningful way with our stakeholders, leading to continued mutual success.
Our DEI vision is to cultivate a workforce and culture that enables successful execution of our business strategy, which enhances our reputation as a destination for top diverse talent, and that creates sustainable competitive advantage.
We recognize that work remains, and we are committed to doing our part. In our journey to better reflect the diverse consumers and communities we serve, we place focus on closing our biggest representation gaps to build a best-in-class, diverse workforce and work to further develop an inclusive culture to create equitable experiences for all through training, education, and awareness building. We also recognize our role as a global business leader and are committed to being a force for social equity and positive change both within and beyond our walls.
Here are just some of the ways we are moving forward through our actions and partnerships:
Leading with Accountability
- Recognizing that change often happens when there’s support at the executive level, our CEO, Bill Newlands, has committed to participate in the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion – the largest CEO-driven business commitment to advancing diversity & inclusion within the workplace.
- Leadership of our DEI strategy has been elevated to our Executive Management Committee and has Board oversight to help ensure DEI is factored into our business decision making.
Championing Equity
- To help improve representation within our industry, we have established our Focus on Female Founders and Focus on Minority Founders ventures initiatives, whereby we have committed to invest a combined total of $100 million in female-led and founded companies and $100 million in Black/African American, Latinx, and minority-owned businesses over the next 10 years.
- To drive greater social equity within our walls and beyond, we have established a multi-year partnership with the Equal Justice Initiative and contribution of $1 million to further EJI’s mission and to support training opportunities for Constellation leadership.
- To foster a winning, inclusive culture, we support and champion a diverse network of Business Resource Groups, each of which is supported by an executive-level sponsor.

“Diversity, equity, and inclusion have never been more important, and we are committed both personally and professionally to ensuring that our leadership and culture genuinely exemplify the unique perspectives and experiences of all who contribute to Constellation Brands.”
