At Constellation Brands, we’re committed to safeguarding our environment and making a positive impact in the communities where we live and work. That’s why we’re pleased to recognize exemplary environmental leadership with this year’s Environmental Sustainability Awards.

The Leadership Award recognizes facilities that demonstrate best-in-class environmentally sustainable practices focused on water stewardship and at least two additional sustainability categories. The Stewardship Award recognizes facilities that implemented outstanding projects in any sustainability category that led to strong environmental benefits.

Leadership Award: Nava Brewery

The Nava Brewery earned the Leadership Award for its comprehensive environmental sustainability initiatives that span multiple areas of focus, including water management, energy, waste, ecosystems, and supply chain.

Water management initiatives included improvements made to the equipment of the Tertiary System used to treat water for reuse in the cooling towers in auxiliary services area of the brewery and in the condensers in the engine room. The Nava Brewery conducts an annual verification of greenhouse gases as a participant in the Emissions Trading System.

The brewery also received the TRUE Zero Waste certification (Gold Level), demonstrating the brewery is environmentally responsible, resource-efficient and contributed to turning waste into savings. To help boost biodiversity preservation and the ecosystem, the Nava Brewery created a garden where they plant fruits and vegetables used in the brewery cafeteria, helping to support the circular economy. Food scraps are used for composting and to grow trees and plants.

Leadership Award: Ruffino Group

Ruffino Group earned the Environmental Sustainability Leadership Award for its comprehensive environmental sustainability initiatives that span multiple areas of focus, including water management, energy, waste, ecosystems, and supply chain. These include water management programs, such as drip irrigation and stormwater capture, as well as the implementation of precision viticulture techniques for enhanced water efficiency.

Ruffino Group is also reducing its environmental footprint by implementing renewable energy sources utilizing solar panels and the use of certified renewable energy supply. The implementation of a lifecycle approach to waste management aims to minimize waste production and enhance recycling efforts. Ecosystem and biodiversity preservation initiatives included planting native species, maintaining wetlands, and protecting local fauna. In 2024, lighter bottles were released to market, helping to reduce the total amount of glass used by the winery.

Stewardship Award: The Corporate Facilities Team

The Corporate Facilities Team was recognized for implementing energy initiatives at our new global headquarters in tandem with its relocation to the historic Aqueduct building campus located in downtown Rochester, N.Y. This project resulted in the creation of Constellation’s first entirely Wi-Fi campus, which is estimated to have saved approximately 38 miles of copper wire. This reduction in material usage showcased innovative technological integration.

The project also utilized energy-efficient products and materials, including LED lighting, which significantly reduces energy consumption compared to traditional lighting solutions. New windows were installed to improve insulation, and windowsills were repaired and retained. Other features of the project included the use of Energy Star-rated appliances and equipment for improved energy savings as well as the implementation of occupancy sensors, which automatically adjusts lighting and climate control based on the presence of people.

Congratulations to the teams at our winning facilities. Their dedication to environmentally sustainable practices is helping us build a future Worth Reaching For.
