Robert Mondavi Winery Receives Napa Green Certification

The Robert Mondavi Winery was recently certified under the Napa Green Winery Program by the Napa County Department of Environmental Management and the Association of Bay Area Government’s Green Business Program. To achieve certification, the winery completed all the regulatory components needed for environmental sustainability, including developing water and energy conservation methods, preventing pollution and reducing solid waste.

The winery was also certified under the Napa Green Certified Land Program, which required it to create and implement a customized farm plan with measured results that addressed all aspects of its property, including practicing soil conservation, water conservation, stable drainage, riparian corridor enhancement, fisheries and wildlife habitat enhancement and long-term improvement and sustainability.

Napa Green was developed in coordination with the Napa County Department of Environmental Management. Certification is granted by the Napa County Agricultural Commissioner’s Office of Pesticide Regulation, the Regional Water Quality Control board, the California Department of Fish and Game, and the National Marine Fisheries Service. The program focuses on environmentally sound, sustainable practices that meet or exceed more than 20 local, state, and federal land or production best practices.

Franciscan Estate Winery is also certified as part of the Napa Green Program.
