Napa County Board of Supervisors Accepts Constellation Brands Donation to Support Services for Older Adults

The Napa County Board of Supervisors yesterday formally accepted a donation from Constellation Brands, Inc., the world’s leading premium wine company, that will benefit the Comprehensive Services for Older Adults (CSOA) division of the Napa County Health & Human Services Agency (HHSA). The donation of 24 workstations, valued at more than $78,000, enables the division to accommodate added staff to meet an increased work load.

“We are grateful for this generous donation from Constellation Brands,” saidKris Brown, HHSA deputy director and manager of the CSOA division. “It will greatly help us reduce the cost of reconfiguring our current space, saving taxpayer dollars while also allowing us to provide services to a growing population of needy aging and disabled residents in the County.”

The County’s CSOA division is experiencing an increase in demand for services and a corresponding increased need for space for staff. Though the additional staff is largely funded by State and federal sources, the County was faced with funding the remodeling of CSOA offices, which had been estimated at more than $100,000.

“When we learned that the County had a need and we had a resource, we agreed it was a natural fit and a great example of how public-private partnerships can benefit the community,” said Greg Fowler, senior vice president for Operations at Constellation Brands.“With offices in St. Helena, and operations at the Robert Mondavi Winery andFranciscan Estate, we are committed to being a long-term and productive partner with Napa County. Constellation Brands cares about the communities in which we live and work.”

The attractive, well-maintained workstations were no longer needed after  Constellation Brands recently moved its West Coast Headquarters in downtown San Francisco to a new space.

The workstations are scheduled to be installed in the CSOA offices in the Carithers Building in downtown Napa by early May.
