Constellation Brands Raises More Than $1.23 Million for the V Foundation for Cancer Research in 2016

Record participation from Constellation's Gold Network distributors and contributions from retailers and consumers drove highest single contribution to date

Chicago, Ill., Sept. 9, 2016 - Constellation Brands (NYSE: STZ and STZ.B), a leading beverage alcohol company and the third-largest beer company in the United States, today announced the largest single donation ever made by Constellation to The V Foundation, one of the leading cancer research funding organizations in the nation. Distributors, retailers and consumers collectively raised more than $1,230,000 through direct pledges and cash donations, on- and off-premise retail promotions, golf tournaments and other events from winter of 2015 to summer of this year.

Since the partnership began in 2010, Constellation Brands Beer Division has provided more than $9 million in total support for The V Foundation's cancer research initiatives. This year's donation reflects Constellation's most successful "Your Corona Gets Us Closer to a Cure" retail initiative, which falls under the Corona Extra and Corona Light brand banners, since 2010.

"Constellation Brands is proud to support The V Foundation in the fight against cancer, a disease that has touched us all in some manner," said Jim Ryan, senior vice president of corporate affairs for Constellation Brands Beer Division. "Our longtime partnership with The V Foundation has become a cornerstone of Constellation's growing corporate social responsibility program."

All proceeds from Constellation Brands, its distributor network, retailers, consumers and other business partners will benefit The V Foundation, with 100 percent of funds raised directly benefiting cancer research. The V Foundation, founded by collegiate basketball coach Jim Valvano and ESPN, has awarded more than $150 million in research grants for all types of cancer since its inception.
