New Customizable Summer Promotion Helps Corona Redefine the Beach
CHICAGO – Corona Extra, the number one import beer in the U.S., and Corona Light, the number one imported light beer in the U.S., today announced the launch of the “Win Your Beach” sweepstakes that offers consumers the chance to win a customizable “beach” experience of their choice. Capitalizing on the success of the Corona “Find Your Beach” campaign, the “Win Your Beach” summer promotion brings the campaign to life and provides consumers with an opportunity to win their own version of a “beach” experience.
From May 15 through September 15, consumers 21 and older will have multiple ways to enter the “Win Your Beach” sweepstakes for a chance to win one of 80 grand prize experiences or more than 400 $100 gift cards, where legal. Fans will find promotional codes inside specially marked Corona Extra and Corona Light packaging to submit on www.CoronaWinYourBeach.com for a chance to win. Consumers can also obtain entry codes by using the Corona mobile application, which can be downloaded on the Corona Facebook page (www.facebook.com/corona), and “checking in” at their favorite participating bars and restaurants.
Corona’s “Win Your Beach” sweepstakes helps consumers define their own beach with new experiences represented through four distinct categories; music, sports, outdoors and the beach. Grand prize winners will have the power to choose their beach by selecting from some of the hottest music festivals and sporting events, to exotic outdoor experiences and beach destinations. Secondary prize gift cards will also be awarded to help consumers find their beach within the four categories.
“This year’s promotion expands the beach state of mind by introducing consumers to new Corona occasions beyond the physical beach,” said Jim Sabia, chief marketing officer for Crown Imports, Corona’s exclusive U.S. importer. “Corona Extra and Corona Light are providing winners with a unique opportunity to choose their own beach experience, allowing them to find their beach when and wherever that may be.”
By incorporating the Corona mobile application, which leverages Facebook and Foursquare check-ins, the “Win Your Beach” sweepstakes plans to expand on the success of last year’s Corona Beach Giveaway, which delivered significant incremental sales volume and garnered 153 million impressions.
The sweepstakes is also supported by a new national “Win Your Beach” TV spot to remind consumers that every pack of Corona Extra and Corona Light is another opportunity to enter for a chance to win a personalized beach experience of a lifetime. The spot will run for the duration of the promotion and will also air on digital video sites, including Hulu, Pandora, Discovery, ESPN and Comedy Central.
