Arch & Tower offers exciting new food and wine experiences in iconic downtown location while winery undergoes an historic reimagination of its Highway 29 home
Napa, CA (August 9, 2023) - Robert Mondavi Winery announces today the opening of Arch & Tower, a new location in downtown Napa that coincides with a multi-year renovation of the iconic winery on Highway 29. A vital step in the brand’s ongoing transformation, Arch & Tower invites guests to experience Robert Mondavi Winery’s acclaimed wines and hospitality in new and unexpected ways.
“This is an exciting and historic moment for Robert Mondavi Winery, as we open our first ever offsite tasting room and continue to build on our deep connection with the Napa community,” says Lauren Larrabee, General Manager of Robert Mondavi Winery.
Located in the historic Borreo Building, Arch & Tower combines the energy of downtown Napa with experiences wholly reimagined to emphasize community and bring fresh perspective to the traditional wine tasting experience. “Robert Mondavi was a huge supporter of downtown Napa, an innovator, and the consummate host himself, so I think he would be proud of what the team has created at Arch & Tower,” says Director of Hospitality Philip Hansell.
Robert Mondavi Winery’s Culinary Director, Jeff Mosher, collaborated with James Beard Award winner and Consulting Chef, Chris Shepherd, to bring a fresh take to the culinary aspect. “We wanted to create experiences that are unabashedly Napa, driven by fresh and local ingredients, and inspired by the wines, Robert Mondavi’s Italian heritage, and the winery’s founding era of the 1960s,” says Chef Mosher.
Guests arriving for a tasting will be led to the open-air lounge overlooking downtown Napa. The Napa Exploration experience includes a tasting of Robert Mondavi Winery’s Estates Collection and an array of à la carte bites created to complement the wines, including seasoned waffle fries paired with crème fraiche ranch with trout roe, and red wine braised beef croquettes with house-made mustard. Those who choose the Taste of To Kalon experience will enjoy wines from the legendary To Kalon Vineyard paired with bites of Shrimp Louie lettuce wraps, Monte Cristo sandwiches, and a Spinach and Ricotta Malfatti, a twist on the beloved Napa specialty. The Legend Lunch invokes convivial connection through a leisurely meal at communal tables by the Napa River, featuring three internationally-inspired-but-locally-sourced courses paired with wines from The Estates Collection. And guests can wind down from the day or gear up for dinner at "Golden Hour”, with wines by the glass and snacks à la carte offered from 4:00 - 7:00 pm.
Within Arch & Tower will also live the To Kalon Collective, a private tasting room celebrating To Kalon Vineyard through offerings from Schrader Cellars, Double Diamond, To Kalon Vineyard Company and Robert Mondavi Winery. With a limited number of appointments available each day, priority access will be granted to club members when reservations open on August 25.
