FAIRPORT, N.Y., June 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Constellation Brands, Inc. (NYSE: STZ and STZ.B) announced today that it has filed a Shelf Registration Statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission. This shelf registration will allow the Company to issue various types of securities, including debt, Class A common stock and preferred stock, from time to time, up to an aggregate of $750 million.
Thomas Summer, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Constellation said, "Updating our shelf registration is a prudent step to maintain financial flexibility for the Company. It provides us with efficient access to the capital markets, to refinance debt when market conditions are favorable. Longer term, the shelf registration will support the growth of the Company, although we have no immediate plans to issue securities under the shelf registration in connection with any acquisitions."
A registration statement relating to these securities has been filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission but has not yet become effective.
