2011

Wine Spectator Top Wines of 2011

The 2008 Robert Mondavi Winery Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon was #20 on Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of 2011 List. The magazine also named the 2010 Drylands Sauvignon Blanc one of the Top 100 Outstanding Values of 2011, and three The Hogue Cellars wines- the 2010 Columbia Valley Late Harvest Riesling, the 2009 Columbia Valley Riesling, and the 2010 Columbia Valley Pinot Gris- and Estancia's 2009 Monterey County Pinnacles Ranches Chardonnay made the "The Biggest Bargains of 2011" list.  

 

Drinks International Most Admired Wine Brands

Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi was named #6 and Inniskillin was named #7 in the North American Top 10. Both brands were also included in the Top 50 Wine Brands in the World list (Woodbridge #42 and Inniskillin #48).

 

2011 Power 100 List
Intangible Business, an independent brand valuation consultancy, named Constellation 2011's #8 Biggest Brand Owner in the wine and spirits sector. Robert Mondavi was named the #3 Most Powerful Wine Brand; SVEDKA was named the #4 Most Powerful Vodka Brand; Paul Masson Grande Amber Brandy was named the #7 Most Powerful Brandy Brand; and Black Velvet Canadian Whisky was named the #18 Most Powerful Whisky Brand.uation consultancydsdfasdfa 

 

The Beverage Forum
Rob Sands, President and CEO, and Richard Sands, Chairman of the Board, received The Beverage Forum's Lifetime Achievement Award, which is given to individuals who, through their lifetime efforts, have materially changed the beverage landscape.

 

Beverage Information Group's 2011 Growth Brand Awards
blüfeld took home the Rising Star Award; SVEDKA, Black Box, Kim Crawford each won the Fast Track Award; and Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi and Cook's captured the Established Growth Brand Award.

 

2010 Impact "Hot Brand" Awards

Modelo Especial, SVEDKA, Black Box, Kim Crawford, and Rex Goliath each took home this award. SVEDKA also won the 2010 Impact #1 Fastest Growing Spirits Brand award.

 

Culinary Institute of America Vintners Hall of Fame

California Zinfandel pioneer and Ravenswood Founding Winemaker Joel Peterson was inducted for his significant contributions to the California wine industry.

 

Cheers Beverage Group Supplier of the Year Award

Constellation Wines U.S. received the Supplier of the Year Award for Best Large Wine Company.

 

2010

Best Large Liquor Supplier

Progressive Enterprises Ltd., one of New Zealand's largest and most successful supermarket organizations, named Constellation New Zealand their "Best Large Liquor Supplier" for 2010.

 

2009 IMPACT "Blue Chip Brands"

Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi, Clos du Bois, Robert Mondavi Private Selection, Blackstone, Estancia, SVEDKA, Modelo Especial, and Corona Light were named 2010 IMPACT "Blue Chip Brands" as some of the industry's most exciting and valued brands. Criteria for the award include at least 500,000 nine-liter case depletions, at least $25 million in gross margin, and ten consecutive years of growth.

 

Wine & Spirits Industry Memorial Award
CEO Rob Sands was honored with the Dr. Louis Berger Memorial Award at the 33rd Annual Wine & Spirits Industry's Gala.

 

Wine Star Winemaker of the Year Award

Genevieve Janssens, Director of Winemaking for Robert Mondavi Winery, received the 2010 Wine Star Winemaker of the Year award from Wine Enthusiast.

 

2010 Power 100 List
Constellation was ranked the No. 7 biggest brand owner in the world; Robert Mondavi Winery was named the No. 3 Most Powerful Wine Brand; Hardys was named the No. 5 Most Powerful Wine Brand; SVEDKA was named the No. 7 Most Powerful Vodka Brand; Paul Masson Grande Amber Brandy was named the #8 Most Powerful Brandy Brand; and Black Velvet Canadian Whisky was named the No. 18 Most Powerful Whisky Brand.

“Judgment of Montreal”
Thirty - three years after the "Judgment of Paris" - the famous tasting that revolutionized the reputation of New World wines - the "Judgment of Montreal" experts' tasting earned a surprise win for Le Clos Jordanne's Claystone Terrace Chardonnay 2005. Unbeknownst to the judges, the Canadian wine was slipped into a blind tasting of California and French wines and won top honors.

 

San Francisco International Wine Competition
Constellation wines and wineries won a number of awards, including the "Portfolio Award" for excellence across a wide spectrum of brands for Constellation Wines U.S., The Tasting Panel Magazine "Winery of the Year" award for Clos du Bois Winery, and Best Canadian Winery for Jackson-Triggs.

 

Vinitaly 2009
Inniskillin was awarded the wine industry's "world cup" by winning gold at the 17th Annual International Wine Competition at Vinitaly 2009.

 

2008

The Beverage Information Group Growth Brand Awards
The Beverage Information Group (formerly the Adams Beverage Group) awarded Constellation with 18 Growth Brand Awards. Richard Sands, Chairman of the Board for Constellation Brands, is given the "Meininger Award - Excellence in Wine & Spirit." The award is presented by Meininger Verlag, the leading European trade publisher for publications on wine and beverages, based in Neustadt an der WeinstraBe, Germany. Richard is honored for the unprecedented expansion of Constellation Brands, which has become the largest producer of wine in the world.

 

2007

Fortune Magazine
Constellation Brands named to Fortune magazine's 25th annual Most Admired Companies list. Constellation Brands ranked fifth in the beverage category.
